On July 2-5, the KWU World Cup was held in Kamchia (Bulgaria) (union of international karate organizations WKO, KWF, IFK, KAN).

In the fight for the Cup, boys, youth and girls met in three age groups - 14-15 years old, 16-17 years old and 18-21 years old.
About 400 fighters from 27 countries were registered at the World Cup.

Of the 20 gold medals up for grabs on the first day, the national karate team of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shinkyokushinai won 12 gold medals, 4 silver and 2 bronze.

Athletes from the full-time national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan Anton Zimarev and Andrzej Kinzersky took first places, Zere Karimova took second place.
